(Toluene-Free)
Chemical Name: Sucrose Benzoate
English Name: Sucrose benzoate; Sucrose octabenzoate; Benzoic acid esters of sucrose; α-d-Glucopyranoside, β-d-fructofuranosyl, benzoate; Beta-D-Fructofuranosyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside benzoate; Saccharose Benzoate
Molecular Formula: C12H14O3(OH)8-n(C7H5O)n
CAS No.: 12738-64-6/ 2425-84-5
EC No.: 235-795-5
Molecular Structure:
(1) Plasticizer for solid inks, solid coatings, thermosetting powder coatings, and thermal printing toners.
(2) Pigment carrier for liquid inks, especially in thermal printing inks, where it prevents elution and improves ink viscosity, water solubility, dispersibility, and emulsification.
(3) An essential component in thermal transfer and magneto-thermal transfer recording media to enhance thermal stability.
(4) A key additive in cosmetics (nail polish, blush, lipstick, skincare, and haircare products) to improve gloss, film-forming ability, adhesion, water resistance, wear resistance, and hardness, while reducing shrinkage and viscosity.
(5) Curing agent for flux residues in soft soldering.
(6) Glossing agent for aerosol paints.
(7) Modifier for elastic nylon poly(amino-12-β-ethylene oxide/epoxyethane) used in textiles, medicine, and construction.
(8) Plasticizer for breathable membranes in personal hygiene and baby diapers.
(9) Due to its excellent compatibility with many organic compounds and polymers (e.g., methacrylates, cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, sulfonated polyesters, hydroxyl polyesters, polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl chloride, aryl sulfonated formaldehyde resins), it is used as a modifier, plasticizer, binder, tackifier, and dispersant for these resins and polymeric materials.
(10) Used in the pharmaceutical industry as a coating agent for medications, often in combination with shellac.
(11) Added to protective layers of optical recording media to shield against mechanical and thermal damage.
(12) Nano-porogen for silicone membranes.
(13) Insulating plasticizer for photosensitive materials in organic photoreceptors of copiers and laser printers, enabling hardening-softening transfer.
(14) Tackifier for certain adhesives.
(2) Used as a "host" for organic photosensitive substances in organic volume-phase holography.
(3) The product with an average substitution degree of 7.4 serves as a film-forming additive for photoresist (photolithography) polymers.
